Dear Mr. Grindle,
I have your letter of the 19th June, (19822/1920),
relating to the vacancies for four Junior Masters in Hong Kong. I notice that in the statement of qualifications it is desired that applicants should be trained certificated
I have teachers, preferably holders of University degrees. consulted one or two of my colleagues in the Board, and they are inclined to believe that the salary offered entitles you to expect that you should be able to obtain the services of
an University graduates, but that a better field would be got together if the word "certificated" were omitted from any
advertisement that might be made of these posts. Perhaps
you would let me know whether posts should now be advertised,
whether the word "Cantificated might be omitted.
It is possible that we may out of the replies received in
connection with the vacancies already advertised find suitable
rindle.
